Update 3 - Troop 25
So it’s still surreal to me that my Dad and I published a book, and that people have purchased that book. It’s exciting, but at the same time surreal. We received an invitation to talk to a Boy Scout Troop out of Plano, Texas. That took place this week during their weekly meeting. It was nice to get to talk about the points of the Scout Law and the importance of using your own principles as guidelines. Unfortunately, I am a better writer than I am a public speaker. I’d like to learn how to do public speaking at some point, if only to make opportunities like this more engaging for the people who are giving up their own time to listen to me speak. Still, the Troop was very courteous and had a couple of good questions at the end.
Interestingly, the Scouts in the troop are raising money via selling mulch instead of popcorn. I don’t envy them having to move all those bags, but so far their campaign has been quite successful! The Troop’s website is located at troop25.org. I appreciate them taking the time to listen to me stumble over my words.
This weekend I’m working at home on my writing, and on trying to relax a little bit. Still, I want to be consistent in my daily habits. There’s not much new news past writing and research over here. Whoever is reading this, I hope you’re well.
