Update 9 - MTG & Writing Consistently
I’ve picked up a new-old hobby, Magic The Gathering. It’s a card game where you take the role of a spellcaster (Planeswalker) and cast spells (play cards such as sorceries, enchantments, and creatures) to defeat your opponent. The lady in the thumbnail is called Millicent, Restless Revenant. The prebuilt deck she came with was white and blue, order and knowledge, plains and islands. Of the five colors in Magic, I think white and blue are my favorites. The fact that the commander card in this particular deck was a revenant made the choice feel even better. I believe in both synchronicities and coincidences. It’s a coin toss.
Getting into MTG was my partner’s idea. We’ve been playing against each other and may risk Friday Night Magic at a local game shop next week. I agreed to get back into it and to teach her the game, but I’m learning as much as her. I hope this game will be a gateway to meeting new people. I feel like it will make interacting with others that much easier. I get to play a card game with my partner, work on my social skills, and think around corners a little. It’s a win all around.
I’m not just dicking around with cards though. I’ve written for about 2 hours each evening this week. I don’t feel comfortable elaborating on what, but it’s been pleasurable overall. Writing makes me feel good. It makes me feel like I’m doing something uniquely my own. I’m going to keep with it.
